Denise Manea, M.C.
Masters Graduate
Background
Hi there! I’m Denise (she/her).
As a counsellor, I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming space grounded in empathy and exploration. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a Master’s degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle. I approach counselling through a relational, person-centered, attachment-based lens. During our time together, I hope to work collaboratively with you, recognizing your individuality and strengths. I approach our work together with curiosity, valuing your perspectives and experiences, knowing that you are the expert in your own life. I am here to support you as you move through challenges and celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small. I believe that therapy is most effective when it’s guided by your lived experiences and goals, and my role is to support you in this discovery!
Approach to Therapy
I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, emotion regulation, life transitions, social skills, relationship challenges, personal growth, or self-esteem. My approach is eclectic, drawing techniques from various modalities such as Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Family Systems Therapy (FST). I tailor my approach based on what you feel is best suited to meet your needs.
I believe that growth happens when we feel truly seen and heard, and I’m here to support you as you move forward in your journey.
