Registered Clinical Psychologist #2678

Background

Dr. Mandeep (pronounced Mun – deep; she/her) provides assessments and therapy and supervises graduate students at Dr. Arnold and Associates. Dr. Mandeep completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University in 2020. Her dissertation focused on emotion regulation and emotion discussion by parents and their autistic and non-autistic children. Her pre-doctoral residency was completed with the London Psychology Residency Consortium in London, Ontario.  Dr. Mandeep’s experience as a person of colour allows her to understand what it may feel like to be different, and how that can affect a person’s mental health. She believes that therapy should acknowledge, honor, and affirm the diverse experiences that her clients have (e.g., culture, religion, language, gender, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, socioeconomic status etc.).

Dr. Mandeep has training in providing both individual and group therapy. She has attended workshops about dialectical behavioural therapy skills and acceptance and commitment therapy. Because of her keen interest in parenting, Dr. Mandeep has also attended workshops and training for Collaborative Problems Solving™, the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) program for treating anxiety and OCD, and emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT).

In therapy, she works with children and adolescents. She is passionate about creating a fun and safe environment while working with her clients. She also believes in the importance of the parent-child relationship and enjoys working with parents to support them in supporting their children.
