Haley McInnes, M.Ed.

Clinical Assisant

Background

Haley McInnes received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2019. She then pursued a professional path of evidence-based behavioural intervention for young children on the autism spectrum, in which she worked as both a lead behavioural therapist and educational assistant. She went on to graduate with a 3 year professional Masters of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology (MEd SACP) at the University of Calgary in 2022. This program utilized a practioner-scholar model, equipping Haley with 3 years of pertinent theory and clinical practice of psycho-educational assessments and evidence-based interventions, including residencies, practicums, and a 1,200 hour internship. She completed her internship under direct supervision of Dr. Arnold at her practice, granting Haley an in-depth and thorough mentorship to understand Dr. Arnold’s psychological framework and professional ethos.

Areas of Speciality

Haley conducts psycho-educational and psycho-diagnostic assessments under the supervision of Dr. Arnold to assess a range of developmental, learning, and social-emotional-behavioural difficulties (e.g., giftedness, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, etc.). Haley strives to empower both the client and their caregivers to understand the “why” behind each step of the assessment process in order to equip them with the knowledge and resources to confidently support and advocate for the student’s educational goals and needs. Haley aims to make the assessment process a collaborative, supported, and positive experience for the student through establishing strong rapport and providing warm encouragement each step of the way.
