Background

Laurissa (she/her) completed her BA in Psychology (Honours) at Simon Fraser University and is currently a MA student in SFU's Clinical Psychology program.

She is passionate about working with children and their families to address referral concerns. Laurissa has a special interest in ADHD, learning differences, and difficulties related to emotion and behavioural regulation.

She has completed practicums at Cornerstone Psychology (Camp Brave) and at Sharon Arnold and Associates. Additionally, she has several years of experience supporting neurodiverse adolescents and teens with fetal alcohol  spectrum disorder. She is currently a student clinican at SFU’s Clinical Psychology Centre.

Areas of Speciality

Laurissa completes psychoeducational assessments with children and adolescents under the supervision of Dr. Arnold that aim to assess learning disabilities, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and various socio-emotional challenges.

Laurissa is dedicated to making assessments fun and empowering. She prides herself on building rapport, highlighting an individual’s strengths, and connecting with each child.
