Background

Ray (he/him) holds a Masters in Clinical Counselling and a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology where he specialized in Active Health and Rehabilitation. Through his early work in rehabilitation and more current work in therapy, Ray has come to see the importance of balance both from a physical and mental standpoint and understands that physical and mental health go hand in hand. Even though there may be obstacles, he strongly believes in the power of patience and more so, focusing on the journey rather than the destination.

Approach to therapy

Ray believes that the journey of life has many obstacles and barriers between where a person is and where they want to be therefore, he is passionate about helping and guiding others through their path with empathy and authenticity. He understands the value of both the victories and the hardships in a person’s life where both have the potential for inner work and personal growth. 

Ray aspires to implement a person-centered approach to counseling, while also working close with Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). His own interests include working closely with Individuals, couples and families and their unique relationship challenges including communication, depression, trauma, life transformations as well as relationship patterns and anxiety.
